21-Year-Old CrossFit Athlete Isaac Coelho Heads to U.S. Competition with Big Dreams

Isaac Coelho, a rising star in Portugal’s CrossFit scene, is preparing to compete in the Pit Collegiate Throwdown in the U.S., a prestigious international event. At just 21 years old, Isaac has already made a name for himself in his home country, but now he’s ready to take on the global stage. His journey into CrossFit began at 19, after years of practicing acrobatic gymnastics, which laid a strong foundation for his athletic career.

Isaac’s training regimen is intense. He works out more than 10 times a week, dedicating between three to five hours daily to strength training, cardio, and specialized CrossFit exercises. His focus has been on preparing for the unknown challenges of CrossFit competitions, which require athletes to be versatile and ready for any type of physical test. From weightlifting to running and swimming, Isaac is leaving nothing to chance as he readies himself for the U.S. event.

While he follows a structured nutritional plan, Isaac’s approach to food isn’t overly restrictive. His breakfast consists of a cereal paired with yogurt, peanut butter, and fruit, fueling him for his demanding training sessions. Throughout the day, he consumes balanced meals rich in carbs, protein, and plenty of hydration. His goal is to maintain energy and recovery while pushing his body to new limits.

Isaac has already won several CrossFit competitions, including the Javali League West Games and the Madeira Cross Games. Despite his success, the path to competing internationally has been financially challenging. Without much sponsorship support in Portugal, Isaac launched a crowdfunding campaign to help cover the costs of his U.S. trip.

Isaac’s ultimate dream is to make CrossFit his full-time profession. Competing on an international stage is a big step toward achieving that goal, and he’s determined to make Portugal proud.
