How the actor who plays Bloater in "The Last of Us" built his body

“The Last of Us" has been a huge success. Although each episode only comes out every week, the public interest is immense and HBO knows it. In the middle of this historical apocalyptic, a strange star was born and covered with fungi.

Bloater is essentially an infected person of boss level and super strong, whose whole body has been transformed by the fungus Cordyceps. The 'malesive stunt', meanwhile, is actually 6ft4, 240lbs, the artist Adam Basil, who lives in London. Having played "Venom", "The Beast" from "Beauty and The Beast" and Baloo in "The Jungle Book", this type of roles is not strange to the actor.

"The costume is made of a combination of foam, rubber and latex, and weighed about 88 pounds, so it is heavy, and that's where the training comes in," says the actor in an interview. "For my physical training, I worked with a UFC veteran to do my cardio, his name is Jess Liaudin. I also increased my calories massively for this, in addition to lifting more weights,” he said.

"I'm much faster, so I have about 4,500 calories a day, but I'll eat them between 2pm and 9pm at night. I rode my bike to the gym, which is about 5 miles from my house. I train with Jess for about an hour, an hour and a half and when I come home by bike, I’ll start eating. At the gym, I usually do high cardio, heavy weights - from eight to 12 repetitions," said the actor about his training for the role.
