How Rob McElhenney From "Always Sunny" Managed To Get Jacked

It all started in 2018 during the Los Angeles Pride March, where actor Rob McElhenney appeared alongside his co-star Danny DeVito in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, without the beer belly of his character Ronald 'Mac' McDonald. Rob McElhenney's physique was quite enviable.

The actor managed to gain 60 pounds in 7 months and everything for the role of Mac in the FX series. The 44-year-old star gained all this weight between the sixth and seventh seasons.

"I'm not going to get into the medical science. Let me just tell you something. Increased levels of testosterone is just a cross I have to bare," Rob revealed in an interview with Men's Health magazine.

"I'm gonna break it down for you, because it's actually quite simple, and anybody can do this. Anybody on the planet can do this. If you have job—like a 9-5 job—collit that. Do you like food? Forget about that. Alcohol? Sorry. That's out. Make sure the chef makes you a lot of chicken breast. And as you go to your physician 2-3 times a week—just to monitor all your testosterone levels. You're good friends with the trainer from Magic Mike? Arin Babaian. Gym at least twice a day, because you're gonna want to do your muscle-building in the morning and then your cardio in the afternoon. Now, do you have a family? Yeah, forget about them. So that's really all you have to do. You too can have an absolutely unrealistic body type, such as me."

“The people who were most fascinated by my body when I was in great shape were dudes. My wife really was displeased with the way I looked, because she felt like I was trying too hard, and I was.”

“We now have this ideal of being the biggest dude or the most ripped guy in the room. If you stood next to him [Brad Pitt] back in 1999, or whenever that movie was, he would seem frail, because the ideal body type now is fucking jacked.”

“The abs are always there. They're just behind a bunch of tacos and tequila. To those abs to come back, all it takes is 3-4 months of starving myself.", ends up revealing, among many other things, already mentioned here, the actor to Men's Health magazine.
