Concerned about the pressure to have a great physique, Will Poulter had the support of Marvel and Disney
The bar is so high in the transformations of superheroes, that nowadays when an actor accepts such a role in a Marvel or DC movie, they know that they will need to train a lot and have a rigourous diet like a real athlete, and this generates a lot of pressure.
The star of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" knew this when she signed the contract with Marvel and Disney studios to play the antagonist Adam Warlock.
In addition to paying for all their meals and necessary training, Marvel and Disney were careful to worry about the British actor's mental health, and this was only possible thanks to the size of the two film studios.
'I really appreciated that they [Marvel and Disney] prioritised my mental health throughout the process, because I was worried about how it could affect me when I was really hungry, tired or stressed,” he told The Cut website.
"I learned the second they threw me that they were going in a different direction," Poulter said.
Self-described as a food lover, Poulter said that his cinematographic transformations are “unhealthy” and “unrealistic”. "It was a blur of calories," he said.
