Vinicius Andrade: Resilience and Passion in Fitness and Life

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Vinicius Andrade, a key figure behind the scenes at Globo in Brazil, is proof that inspiration doesn’t always come from the spotlight. As a dedicated professional and fitness enthusiast, Vinicius embodies discipline and resilience in both his career and personal life. In this exclusive interview, he opens up about his passion for fitness, the challenges he’s overcome, and how his journey continues to inspire others to transform not just their bodies, but their entire outlook on life.

1. Who is Vinicius Andrade off-camera? How do you describe yourself personally?

“I’m a very calm person. I like to wake up early and go to bed early. I’m passionate about my routine and prefer not to have visitors at home. I consider myself a happy guy. My most important characteristic is my dedication. I’m very committed to the things I love.”

2. Besides training and sports, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

“I love television! I enjoy watching cooking reality shows and home renovation programs. I also love sunbathing by the pool and watching movies.”

3. What motivated you to start your fitness journey? Was it always part of your life, or did it begin at a specific moment?

“I used to watch the series Smallville, and I wanted to have a body like the actor who played Clark Kent (Tom Welling). At 19, I started weight training.”

4. What was the biggest challenge at the beginning of your fitness journey? How did you overcome it?

“Having the money to pay for the gym, haha. During the first few years, I couldn’t even afford creatine or whey protein.”

5. Weightlifting, CrossFit, and footvolley are quite different activities. What do you enjoy most about each one?

“With weightlifting, it’s all about going heavy—I love the feeling of pushing myself on the bench press. CrossFit challenges me with movements that are completely different. As for footvolley, I love the beach and being in contact with the sand. It’s also challenging because I had never played soccer before.”

6. CrossFit is known for being intense and demanding. What has this practice taught you, physically and mentally?

“I was able to activate muscles I couldn’t target with weightlifting. Mentally, I had to develop patience. In weightlifting, I could go heavy right away, but with CrossFit, it took me a long time to master the necessary skills.”

7. Footvolley combines technical skills and physical endurance. Do you feel this sport benefits other areas of your training?

“It definitely helps with strengthening my legs, which are my weak point.”

8. How do you balance your training routine with your work at Globo and other responsibilities?

“My job allows me to have my mornings free, so I can balance weightlifting, CrossFit, and footvolley. Luckily, everything is close to home, and working from home helps as well.”

9. Are there days when you don’t feel motivated to train? How do you overcome those moments?

“It’s rare for me not to feel motivated to train.”

10. What physical and mental changes have you noticed throughout your fitness journey?

“My body has changed completely—it’s very visible. Mentally, the biggest change has been confidence. I’m very confident in everything I do and say now.”

11. Do you have any specific goals you still want to achieve in fitness?

“Growing my legs! I’ve never used steroids, so my progress is always slower.”

12. What would be your main advice for someone starting CrossFit or weightlifting?

“Don’t give up. Results take time—you won’t get a great body overnight. Focus a lot on your diet and sleep. It’s absolutely possible to achieve a great physique without using steroids.”

13. What would you say to someone wanting to include sports like footvolley in their routine?

“It will certainly make your day feel lighter.”

14. How important is mental health and well-being in your fitness routine?

“It’s absolutely crucial. Mental balance is the key to achieving great results and maintaining well-being.”

15. Do you believe that sports and training can transform not only the body but also how we approach life?

“Without a doubt. Life changes because everyone starts to see you differently—even as a source of inspiration.”

16. How do you think your story can inspire others to begin or continue their fitness journeys?

“I’ve been training since I was 19, and despite all the challenges life threw at me, I never stopped. Fitness has always been my escape during tough times. I believe people can channel their frustrations and setbacks into training because it helps transform you physically and mentally into a better person.”

Vinicius Andrade’s journey is a testament to resilience, dedication, and passion. His story reminds us that fitness is more than just physical transformation—it’s a lifestyle and a source of inspiration for overcoming life’s challenges.
