The 10 most corrupt countries in the world

The non-governmental organization Transparency International defines corruption as the "abuse of power for self- gain". The organization says that corruption is fuelling a global crisis in all democracies.

Russia occupies the first position as the most corrupt country in the world, after leaving fifth place in 2021. Last year it was Iran that occupied the first place.
