Tom Ford sells his clothing brand and becomes a multimillionaire

In addition to being a fashion designer, creative director and filmmaker, Tom Ford is now a multimillionaire. At the age of 61, the American sold his brand to Estée Lauder for 2.8 billion dollars.

With the deal finalized Tom Ford's valued fortune rises to 2 billion dollars, which continues to have a word on the artistic side of the brand that ended up selling until the end of 2023.

Born in Texas, USA, Tom Ford tried to be an actor, but soon saw that he had no capacity to play this role. In 1994 he was appointed creative director of Gucci, when the brand was going through a difficult situation, having saved the Italian brand from disaster. He was also creative director of Yves Saint Laurent.

In 2004 he embarked on the path of creating his own fashion brand, which was launched in 2006. He was in a relationship with Richard Buckley that lasted 35 years, until the death of his partner. The couple has a 10-year-old son.
